Introduction

On the right, you can see that overall compliance rates with the study protocol varied strongly between participants. While many EMA studies introduce certain compliance thresholds, it has recently been argued to instead include all observations in the analysis of intensive longitudinal data. To incorporate both perspectives, provide additional sensitivity analyses and safeguard our results from any potential biases, we here offer an interactive html-file to examine the influence of different compliance thresholds on the overall results of this study.

While the RMSSD offers an intriguing way to operationalize durability of intentions, other indicators of dynamics have been proposed across several research fields/areas (see, e.g., Dejonckheere et al., 2019 for a review). We describe each of the following indicators separately, provide descriptive information on distributional characteristics, estimate \(Model A\) and \(Model B\) and plot the interaction effects accordingly.

  1. Root mean square of successive differences (RMSSD): durability
  2. First-order auto-correlation: pliability
  3. Partial auto-correlation: pliability
  4. Standard deviation: variability/stability
  5. Mean square of successive differences (MSSD): durability
